Fathom Gray Memphis

"Each week, 3WW will post three (or more) random words. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to write something using all of those words. It can be a few lines, a story, a poem, anything. I'll also attempt to write something using the same three words.

Leave a comment if you participate. Many fun and interesting people might visit your blog.

This week's words are:
Gray
Fathom
Memphis"

I met my love in Memphis,
When I was seventy-two.
He was 80 and his first words were:
"I'll show you what to do."

He whispered endearing nothings
Into my hearing aided ear.
Our gray heads banged together,
His palsy made my old eyes tear.

I could not fathom going further
Than his first off-center kiss,
But I was swept away in the throes of love
When he said knowing me was bliss.

We spend our time together now,
I gaze into his sightless eyes,
And I know he'll love me always,
I'm the one who got the prize.

I loved the hearing aid line :) That's hilarious!

I love the idea of falling in love at 72 and 80... that's awesome :)
