I don't know about everyone else, but I'm one of those readers who not only obsessively reads books, but I cannot pass by someone else reading a book without having to try to see what that book is. I have managed to supress the urge to ask what the book is if I can't see for myself, and I try to restrain myself from asking if the reader/stranger likes it. A person could be standing stark naked in the middle of a busy 4 lane highway singing the Star Spangled Banner while standing on one foot and holding a flaming torch over his head, and if my nose is in a book, I'd never notice him..... UNLESS he were using the torch so he could see the book he was reading. THEN I'd not only notice him, but I'd have to know what he's reading.
Which is why, I suppose, I also love to find blogs that talk about books whether it be reviews or book news or book lists. I've spent hours at Lists of Bests just reading lists other people have made of what they've read or want to read or what someone's Uncle Charlie said only the well-read person reads. I get great leads on books this way. Books I may never have heard of otherwise.
So, of course, when one of my Shelfari friends, Bulphan mentioned he's got a book blog, I wanted to see it.
Bulphan's blog can be found by clicking --> HERE. He not only features well written reviews of the books he's read (and the guy reads like it might be outlawed tomorrow!), but he also features images of the books he's read which makes it very easy to find them in bookstores if something he's read strikes your fancy too.
It's a great thing to have a site like Shelfari.com and a contact like Bulphan there. The members I've met and list as friends have contributed greatly to my reading pleasure by giving me good leads and just as often saved me from buying something I may not have liked. So, check out Bulphan's Blog, and while you're there leave a comment... tell him Ma sent ya'! .
